Hair: Fashion and Fantasy
A Bumble and Bumble Hair Contest

All Skullz Salon stylists and apprentices took part in submitting works to this contest. The object was to create a look inspired by a chapter in the book below. Check out the Images below to see everyone's work!
A Bumble and bumble hair contest based on the newest book by Bb. Global Artistic Director Laurent Philippon:
Hair: Fashion and Fantasy.
Stylist: Angelique
Model: Ed
Inspiration:  "I wanted to challenge myself to create a masculine alternative to the current short and structured barber styles. The texture of the dreadlock compliments the extreme length of the style. In a time where man-buns and brony-tails are center stage, I wanted to create a masculine alternative to extremely long hair. The color palette for this look is animalistic and fiery, as I left the ends of the dreadlocks wild and tail-like. His natural copper played well into the bold yellows, and creates a Lion’s mane."

Stylist: Lizz
Model: Scott
Inspiration:
"I’ve always been drawn to the natural flow and movement of curly hair. My style was inspired by the 1950’s “greaser” appeal. Curls were embraced, tamed, lacquered and combed. They were always changing; moving and falling. A quick primp meant taking a comb from your jean pocket and twisting the bang down over your brow."

Stylist: Hayley
Model:
Dustin "Discord Addams"
Inspiration: "I was inspired by the ability wigs have to change someone’s entire look. I really wanted to have a hard side of the style and a soft more elegant idea of the style. I used a custom set of extensions to give the duality of male and female. Androgyny was the byproduct of my process."

Stylist: Lindsay
Model: Michael
Inspiration:
"I was inspired by the streets of New York. I love the split personality between ‘dirty mod-punk’ style with a clean lined ‘not so normal’ appeal. The shine and hold gives the look the aesthetic I wanted."

Stylist: Savannah
Model: Dan
Inspiration:  "I was inspired to create a style by the Blondes chapter. The photos featured had hair not only blonde, but brightly colored as well. I love hair of unnatural color and the look of dirty, grungy hair. It looks more lived in and real to me. The style I created has a little bit of both. I am excited that looks like this are beginning to return to style. I look forward to using this inspiration in my daily styling."

Stylist: RaeLynn
Model: Jesse
Inspiration:  "I was inspired by the chignon chapter because I wanted to do a soft yet structured look. My model’s fuzzy hair texture gave this classic style a more modern and ‘undone’ appeal. I was envisioning Marie Antoinette, bird nests and crowns."

Stylist: Jeremy
Model: Quaden
Inspiration:
"I was inspired by the street look of punk. I liked the juxtaposition of that style with the innocence of youth."

Stylist: Samatha
Model: Michael
Inspiration: "Everyone wants to feel hardcore, and why would you let a textured look hold you back? By mixing curl with a classic style I attempted to stay current while accentuating a unique look."

Stylist: Kiley
Model: Chris
Inspiration:
"I have always been inspired by the Mohawk style. I think it’s a very unique look. It can have a lot character and variation. Not anyone can pull it off."
