How did you get into the Hair Industry?
My mother always did my hair growing up. I took an immediate interest by attempting to "do" my friends hair as well as my own from a very young age. I went to Akron University out of high school but never had the passion to define a major that would stick. I saw becoming a hairdresser as a way for me to learn with my hands and create a career for myself.
What do you enjoy most about your career?
I love being an educator for Skullz. It allows me to take classes relevant to my work and become a better stylist for my clients. I love learning in a way that allows me to use and share new knowledge in practical ways.
I've always wanted to be an educator. The leadership at Skullz is centered on accountability for my own business behind the chair while making everyone accountable for each other as well. I feel like I am constantly growing and evolving as a stylist. Also, being located in Kent gives me great opportunities to always meet new people.
